Since we all make mistakes, professional editing is a necessity for all written work if you want to gain the trust of your readers and potential clients. Familiarity with your own work can easily cause you to overlook minor and even major typos within your manuscript. Typos in your business and marketing materials are a surefire way to cause customers to lose confidence in your ability to represent them professionally.
Rain Publishing uses a collaborative approach to editing wherein we work with our authors to ensure that their intended message is clearly communicated while also preserving the author’s voice and style. Distinguishing us from other self-publishing agencies, our prices include multiple rounds of editing to ensure that your manuscript is polished and ready for publishing.

How this Works
If your book is complete or mostly complete, you can begin the editing process with us. Please submit:
- Total word count of your manuscript
- 5-10 page sample of the manuscript to be edited
- Your desired timeframe for editing and any particular questions or concerns you have about your manuscript or the editing process.
- Your editor will provide you with an edited sample, make recommendations and provide you with a quote based on the sample analysis.
- Upon your acceptance of the editing agreement and with your deposit, your editor will review your entire manuscript making edits and comments using track changes in Word, then send it back to you for your review and feedback.
- Your editor will perform a second round edit incorporating your feedback and cleaning up any remaining errors. If there are any remaining issues that the author needs to address, the editor will discuss those with you. Otherwise, the editor will perform a final round of editing and present you with a clean copy and a copy including all edits in track changes.

Editorial Assessment
We will review your entire manuscript and provide substantial feedback on the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities observed in your text as well as recommendations to improve content, structure, and flow.
[If you purchase this service and then choose to hire Rain Publishing to assist with the actual editing of your manuscript, we will deduct $150.00 from the cost of your editing or publishing package.]

Editing Services
Website Editing: $5 per page.
Basic Copy Editing: for Promotional/Marketing Materials such as Flyers, Brochures, etc. Gain your potential customers’ trust with a professional image. Allow us to review your promotional materials including flyers, brochures, etc. to remove typos, correct grammar and make sure you look good. $.05 per word.
Line Editing: We review your manuscript line by line for typos and minor errors. $3 per page based on industry standard, 250 words = one page.
Content Editing: Our editing team will thoroughly review your manuscript for grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, and style. Fiction Books: The editor will also focus on maintaining consistency of details in the plot, characters and setting. Nonfiction Books: The editor will also monitor consistency of information and ideas. $7 per page based on industry standard, 250 words = one page.
Developmental Editing: For manuscripts that need extra work, we will provide an in-depth review and collaborative edit of your manuscript which includes all of the basic edits plus intense review of content for organization, flow, and readability. We will provide substantial feedback and guidance for how to fix problems in the manuscript, including suggestions for rewrites where necessary. When all suggested edits have been addressed, we will perform a quality review of your entire manuscript.$9 per page based on industry standard, 250 words = one page.
