Crystal Bodie Smith

Crystal P. Bodie Smith is a native of New York who was born in a family of five to Charles and Virginia Phillips of North Carolina. This makes her a native of New York with a southern upbringing. She attended Jamaica High School in Queens, NY and St. Augustine’s College of Raleigh, NC. Crystal is now the proud mother of three daughters, a stepdaughter and grandson. Her aspirations include having a successful business and leaving a legacy for her daughters to lay a foundation for them to achieve their goals in life.
Crystal is a survivor who lost her mother, father, and brother which only leaves her older sister and herself living. She watched family members cope with cancer, leukemia, and brain surgery. After losing all her immediate family except her sister who is in remission, it caused her to become more compassionate and caring about people and their struggles. Watching her parents, brother, sister, aunts, cousins, and many more suffer and endure with the big “C” her heart has become heavy, her emotions have been stirred, and her passion for “HOPE” has been lit. Crystal accredits much of whom she has become to the Phillips family, her children, her cousin Dennese and her pastors. Much of her inner strength has come from her challenges encountered through the deaths of loved ones, two divorces, bankruptcy, termination from a state job and raising her second cousin whose parents died young. She became the strong woman she is today after bouncing back after all her personal mishaps. Now she is using her life experiences as a driving force to strive for success. She now leans on God almighty to order her steps daily and it allows her to press on in the good fight of faith.
Crystal is the Founder of Capital City Hope Foundation, a Non-Profit, headquartered in Raleigh, NC since 2012. The foundation’s mission is to bring awareness, empower the needy, influence the community, and to bridge the gap so everyone can enjoy a productive state of mind. Everything done by the organization is focused around the mission statement, “Stirring Up The Gifts, Instilling Hope, and Saving Lives!” She prays that this book will be an avenue of HOPE for family members who need direction. Her motto is KEEP HOPE ALIVE. Final Wishes is a product through which she is spreading hope and healing hearts. She prays that through her experiences she can shed some light, point people in the right direction. And, lastly help all families to get a step closer to preparing self or a family member for a peaceful transition. #keephopealive
